Zambeef Products PLC is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals to join its Head Office team as an Internal Audit Senior.

About the Role

The Internal Audit Senior will play a critical role in strengthening the company's internal control environment by planning and executing audit assignments, reviewing financial and operational processes, evaluating IT systems, and supporting fraud investigations and risk management initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Internal Auditor and Internal Audit Manager to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute audit programmes in accordance with the approved annual audit plan.

• Conduct IT and systems audit reviews using approved audit methodologies.

• Perform semi-annual reviews of IT risk assessments.

• Review financial performance and operational activities through continuous auditing.

• Prepare weekly progress reports for the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA).

• Prepare quarterly revenue assurance reports.

• Conduct investigations into fraud, theft, and misappropriation where required.

• Support fraud investigations with the Security Department and attend court as a witness when necessary.

• Review management accounts and complete quarterly Internal Audit review checklists.

• Conduct monthly quality self-assessments in line with the Internal Audit Manual.

• Prepare comprehensive audit reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations.

• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and prepare monthly work summaries.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Internal Audit Manager or Chief Internal Auditor.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia (ZICA), or an equivalent qualification.

• Paid-up membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).

• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in auditing, internal controls, or a related field.

• CISA, CIA, or another recognised internal audit certification will be an added advantage.

• Computer literacy with experience using accounting packages such as Pastel Evolution and Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) or other audit software.
