Malu Capital is inviting applications from qualified, motivated, and results-oriented individuals to fill the position of Collections Officer.
About the Role
As a Collections Officer, you will play a key role in managing overdue loan accounts, supporting loan recovery efforts, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The successful candidates will work closely with borrowers to negotiate repayment arrangements while ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical debt collection practices.
Key Responsibilities
Contact customers with overdue loan accounts through phone calls, SMS, emails, and field visits.
Follow up on missed loan repayments and negotiate suitable repayment plans.
Achieve assigned collection targets while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Monitor assigned loan portfolios and identify high-risk or delinquent accounts.
Escalate accounts requiring legal action or management intervention.
Educate customers on their repayment obligations and respond professionally to enquiries.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly collection performance reports.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and debt recovery activities.
Conduct field visits to verify customer information and trace unreachable clients.
Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and ethical collection standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
At least one (1) year of experience in loan collections, debt recovery, credit administration, customer service, or a similar role.
Experience within a microfinance institution or financial services environment will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
