Yalelo is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Data and Analytics Lead (Production) to support its Production operations in Siavonga.

About the Role

The Data and Analytics Lead (Production) will be responsible for ensuring the quality and availability of production reports, managing the workflow of the Data & Analytics Data Clerks, leading analytics and business intelligence projects, and delivering data-driven insights that improve operational performance. The successful candidate will also oversee analytics projects, support software development initiatives, and lead a high-performing analytics team.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence

• Analyse key business problems using authoritative and trusted datasets from across the organisation.

• Evaluate the quality, reliability, and integrity of operational datasets and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Conduct advanced statistical analysis using SQL, Excel, and other analytical tools.

• Produce actionable insights that support production efficiency, revenue growth, and informed decision-making.

• Review monthly analyses prepared by Data & Analytics team members and provide constructive feedback.

Project Management

• Lead short-term and long-term data and analytics projects from planning through implementation.

• Develop innovative solutions by leveraging new technologies and improving existing analytical processes.

• Coordinate with external software development teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.

• Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of objectives.

Tools & Technical Development

• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and automated workflows using Microsoft Power Platform tools.

• Build and optimise analytical solutions using SQL and Python.

• Utilize AI-powered tools to improve productivity, reporting efficiency, and business insights.

• Support continuous improvement of reporting systems and production data visibility.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Data & Analytics team.

• Allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure deadlines are achieved.

• Conduct employee performance reviews and provide coaching and professional development.

• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance team culture.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in database management, data analysis, or analytics.

• Experience conducting employee performance reviews and providing performance feedback.

• Experience using analytics to improve business performance, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.

• Experience managing data analytics or business intelligence projects.

Required Skills and Competencies

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

• Expert programming skills in SQL (knowledge of SAS or R is an added advantage).

• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and database management.

• Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint.

• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.

• Ability to scope, plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate data science and analytics projects.

• Experience working with AI tools to improve productivity and business insights.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Added Advantage

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Knowledge of econometric analysis methods.

• Experience managing external software development teams.

• Experience implementing business intelligence and automation solutions within production environments.
