About the Role
The Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the company's fleet, ensuring efficient vehicle scheduling, dispatch coordination, driver supervision, and compliance with company policies and transport regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving operational performance while maintaining high safety and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily transport and fleet operations.
- Monitor fleet movements and oversee dispatch activities.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Supervise drivers, driver assistants, and other operational staff.
- Resolve operational issues and respond promptly to customer requests.
- Monitor driver attendance, discipline, conduct, and compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with Fleet Managers regarding vehicle availability, breakdowns, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor fuel consumption, trip performance, and driver productivity.
- Ensure timely submission of trip sheets, PODs (Proof of Delivery), waybills, and operational reports.
- Maintain effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) regulations and company safety standards.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- At least 2–3 years of experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations.
- Proven experience supervising drivers and transport operations.
- Good knowledge of fleet management systems and transport documentation.
- Experience in cross-border transport operations will be an added advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong planning, coordination, and organisational abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
Other Requirements
