Barrick Lumwana Mining Company is inviting qualified and motivated professionals to apply for the position of Safety Documentation & Systems Specialist (LEP) on a fixed-term contract. About the Role
The Safety Documentation & Systems Specialist will be responsible for managing health and safety documentation, maintaining safety management systems, and ensuring that important records are accurate, up to date, and accessible. The role also supports continuous improvement by helping operational teams comply with internal safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with different departments while promoting a strong safety culture across the mine.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidate can expect responsibilities that include:
Maintaining and organizing health and safety documentation.
Managing safety management systems and related records.
Ensuring documentation complies with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Assisting with the preparation of safety reports, audits, and inspections.
Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of safety management processes.
Coordinating document reviews, updates, and version control.
Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate reporting of safety information.
Providing administrative support for health and safety initiatives where required.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and experience:
Grade 12 School Certificate.
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or a related field.
At least three (3) years of experience in safety documentation and systems management.
Experience using safety management systems or specialized safety software will be an added advantage.
Membership with a recognized professional body.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Valid Class B or Class C Manual Driver's License.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
