BIA Zambia is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Warehouse Officer at its Lumwana site.

About the Role

The Warehouse Officer will be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, processing, and dispatch of goods while ensuring inventory accuracy and timely delivery of parts to both internal and external customers. The role plays a key part in supporting workshop operations and maintaining effective warehouse management practices.

Key Responsibilities

Goods Receiving & Dispatch

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming and outgoing goods accurately.

  • Process daily purchase and sales orders, both physically and administratively.

  • Prepare customer orders for dispatch and shipment.

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts to internal and external customers.

  • Report stock discrepancies and inventory issues.

Warehouse Operations

  • Store materials efficiently and maintain proper warehouse organization.

  • Maintain cleanliness and order within the warehouse.

  • Ensure compliance with established warehouse safety procedures.

  • Support effective inventory management and stock control.

Customer Service & Coordination

  • Serve customers at the warehouse counter in a professional manner.

  • Coordinate the distribution of incoming goods to workshop mechanics and relevant departments.

  • Work closely with the Parts and Service teams to ensure efficient warehouse operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of logistics, warehousing, and supply chain processes.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP (MM and WM modules).

  • Experience with Purchase Order (PO) creation, goods receipt processing, stock consultation, and inventory management.

  • Previous warehouse or logistics experience will be an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • Good understanding of warehouse and inventory management.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems and warehouse processes.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
