Boiler Maker – Sandvik

About the Role

Sandvik is seeking a qualified and experienced Boiler Maker to join its team in Solwezi. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding, fabrication, rebuilding drilling components, and supporting rock tool servicing while ensuring high production quality and compliance with safety standards.

This position is ideal for skilled metal fabrication professionals with experience in mining or industrial workshop environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and metal fabrication work.

• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces.

• Fabricate and rebuild drill pipes through welding.

• Carry out bit grinding and assist in servicing rock tools, including hammers and drill bits.

• Maintain production and quality standards throughout fabrication processes.

• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.

• Support workshop and mining site operations while complying with health and safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Trade Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in welding and fabrication.

• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.

• Good knowledge of fabrication processes and the use of hand and power tools.

• Willingness and ability to learn bit grinding and rock tool repair techniques.

• A Class C Driver's Licence and HiAB operating experience will be an added advantage.
