The company is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Mine Geologist.

About the Role

The Mine Geologist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Grade Control Programme, ensuring accurate geological data collection, grade control, ore delineation, and production support to maximize operational efficiency and ore recovery.

The successful candidate will work closely with mine planning, production, laboratory, and geological teams to ensure reliable geological information supports safe and efficient mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

Production

  • Validate grade control data and maintain geological databases.

  • Verify grade control ore mark-outs in the field.

  • Liaise with the processing plant to ensure ore quality meets blending and production requirements.

  • Supervise field technicians to ensure daily blend plans are achieved and ore is directed to the correct destinations.

  • Manage stockpile inventories.

  • Ensure timely daily and month-end production reporting.

  • Provide geological feedback to mine planners and senior resource geologists.

RC Grade Control Programme

  • Manage Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling programmes for ore delineation across complex geological zones.

  • Work with Senior Mine Geologists to evaluate drill patterns and improve geological interpretation.

  • Supervise field technicians and sampling personnel.

  • Ensure drilling and sampling activities are conducted safely and efficiently.

  • Manage drilling contractors and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

  • Oversee sample movement from the drill site to the laboratory and into the geological database.

  • Liaise with the database administrator to maintain accurate geological records.

  • Manage QA/QC programmes and resolve laboratory quality issues.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of sampling standards, procedures, and global best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor of Science (Geology) or Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Geology, Mining Geology, or an equivalent qualification.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in Mining Geology.

  • Experience in base metals and open-pit mining operations.

  • Experience using geological software such as Surpac, Datamine, MapInfo, or Discover 3D.

  • Knowledge of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) will be an added advantage.
