Keystone Technologies Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Technician to join its technical team in Lusaka.

About the Role

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic security systems. The successful candidate will support the implementation of CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and other integrated security solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Maintenance

• Install, test, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.

• Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

• Perform fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance on electrical installations.

• Ensure proper electrical load balancing and system performance.

Security Systems Installation

• Install, configure, and maintain CCTV surveillance systems.

• Install and support IP-based security networks and storage solutions.

• Configure and maintain access control systems, including Dormakaba, Dahua, Hikvision, or equivalent platforms.

• Support the installation and integration of fire alarm systems with building management systems (BMS).

Inspection & Troubleshooting

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.

• Troubleshoot electrical and security system faults and implement timely repairs.

• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and service documentation.

• Ensure all installations comply with company standards and client specifications.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to electrical safety procedures and industry best practices.

• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical regulations and company policies.

• Promote safe working practices during installation and maintenance activities.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Craft Certificate, Technician Certificate, Advanced Certificate, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.

• Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).

Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

• 3–5 years of practical experience in electrical installation and maintenance.

• Experience working with CCTV, access control, and integrated security systems.

• Experience with IP networking and security storage planning.

Required Skills and Competencies

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, schematics, and load balancing.

• Proficiency in CCTV installation, configuration, and maintenance.

• Good understanding of IP networking and security infrastructure.

• Familiarity with Dormakaba, Dahua, Hikvision, or equivalent access control systems.

• Ability to integrate fire alarm systems with building management systems.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.

Added Advantages

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• OSHA Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) or Electrical Safety certification.

• Additional training in CCTV design.

• Certification in fire alarm installation.

• Training in access control systems integration.
