About the Role

The Lab Technician will be responsible for carrying out laboratory testing and analysis on minerals and metal samples to support production, quality control, and operational decision-making. The successful candidate will ensure that laboratory procedures are followed correctly, testing equipment is properly maintained, and accurate records of laboratory activities are kept.

This role requires someone who can work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve laboratory and production objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on mineral and metal samples.

  • Follow approved laboratory procedures, testing methods, and quality assurance standards.

  • Prepare, label, and handle laboratory samples accurately.

  • Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment.

  • Record and report laboratory results accurately and on time.

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and company policies.

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.

  • Assist in identifying equipment faults and reporting maintenance requirements.

  • Work closely with production and quality teams to support operational activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A relevant qualification in Laboratory Science or a related field.

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in minerals and metals laboratory operations.

  • Good understanding of laboratory testing procedures and quality control systems.

  • Experience operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
