Job Overview

ECIG is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, inspection, and supervision of mechanical systems and equipment on project sites while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering standards.

This is a project-based contract position suited to professionals who enjoy working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, inspect, and supervise mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.

  • Conduct inspections to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.

  • Identify mechanical faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver engineering solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety procedures, and project requirements.

  • Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate project documentation.

  • Support project implementation and ensure activities are completed within agreed timelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a higher qualification.

  • Minimum of two (2) years' relevant work experience.

  • Valid registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).

  • Valid EIZ Practising Licence.

  • Experience in the installation, maintenance, inspection, or supervision of mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
