Barrick Lumwana is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Project Engineer within the Mining Department.
About the Role
Reporting to the Coordinator – Projects, the Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing improvement initiatives across large-scale surface mining operations. The successful candidate will work closely with production teams to deliver projects that enhance productivity, optimize operational performance, and improve project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with safe work practices and report and investigate incidents promptly.
Collaborate with production teams to implement improvement initiatives and integrate project solutions.
Optimize mining processes and operational systems to reduce costs and improve project performance.
Conduct detailed data analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for operational improvement.
Reconcile engineering assumptions with actual performance and recommend improvement measures.
Prepare and submit accurate project reports within required timelines.
Assist in preparing business plans and budgets for assigned projects.
Support the development and implementation of long-term mining infrastructure designs and execution plans.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or another relevant Engineering discipline.
Minimum of four (4) years' experience in mining engineering.
Experience in open-pit mining operations will be an added advantage.
Proven experience using mine design and engineering software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other engineering applications.
Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Valid driver's licence will be an added advantage.
