BME is inviting applications from experienced and safety-conscious professionals for the position of MMU Operator.
About the Role
The MMU Operator will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of a Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU) used in the production and delivery of bulk explosives to mining operations. The successful candidate will ensure that all blasting products are manufactured and delivered in accordance with customer requirements while complying with company safety, quality, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate the Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU) in accordance with company procedures.
Manufacture and deliver bulk explosives to customer sites as required.
Perform daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance on the MMU vehicle and associated equipment.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality management standards.
Complete production reports, inventory records, and operational documentation accurately.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards on the MMU and at customer work sites.
Identify, report, and assist in resolving equipment defects and operational risks.
Work closely with mine personnel and supervisors to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate.
Valid Code CE Driver's Licence or an equivalent Dangerous Goods Driver's Licence.
Valid Dangerous Goods Permit will be an added advantage.
Previous experience operating a Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU) in a mining or explosives environment.
Sound knowledge of blast hole charging techniques and bulk explosives products.
