Job Overview

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining equipment, supporting construction and mining operations, carrying out repairs, and ensuring machinery and infrastructure remain safe, reliable, and operational. Applicants should possess relevant technical qualifications and significant hands-on experience within industrial, construction, or mining environments.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Technicians

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment.

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.

• Ensure maximum equipment reliability and availability.

Heavy Duty Mechanics

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty equipment and machinery.

• Service excavators, dump trucks, loaders, graders, and other heavy equipment.

• Perform hydraulic system maintenance and repairs.

• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance.

Scaffolders

• Assemble and dismantle scaffolding systems.

• Inspect scaffolding before use.

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.

• Support safe access for construction and maintenance teams.

Carpenters

• Construct, install, and repair wooden structures.

• Perform finishing and formwork activities.

• Read and interpret technical drawings.

• Carry out maintenance and repair works.

Welders

• Perform ARC, MIG, and TIG welding.

• Fabricate and repair metal components.

• Read fabrication drawings and specifications.

• Repair industrial equipment and structures.

Riggers

• Rig, lift, and move heavy equipment safely.

• Secure loads using appropriate lifting gear.

• Coordinate crane and lifting operations.

• Follow lifting plans and safety procedures.

Painters

• Prepare surfaces for painting.

• Apply industrial coatings and protective finishes.

• Carry out corrosion protection work.

• Maintain painting equipment and tools.

Tyre Technicians

• Fit and remove heavy equipment tyres.

• Perform wheel balancing and tyre inspections.

• Repair damaged tyres where appropriate.

• Conduct tyre maintenance and servicing.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Minimum of 4 years' relevant work experience.

• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty machinery and maintenance practices.

• Experience in industrial, construction, or open-pit mining operations.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Willingness to relocate to Mumbwa, Central Province.

Position-Specific Qualifications

• Maintenance Technicians: Diploma or ITI/Trade Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.

• Heavy Duty Mechanics: ITI/Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• Scaffolders: Trade Certificate (Scaffolding certification is an added advantage).

• Carpenters: Trade Certificate in Carpentry.

• Welders: Welding Trade Certificate.

• Riggers: Rigger certification is preferred.

• Painters: Trade Certificate is preferred.

• Tyre Technicians: Technical Certificate in Tyre Maintenance or Automotive.
