Network Engineer Job in Lusaka – Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS).

The Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) is inviting applications from qualified, skilled, and motivated professionals for the position of Network Engineer. This opportunity is based in Lusaka under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Directorate.

ZNBS is looking for an experienced IT professional who can manage and maintain its network infrastructure while ensuring high levels of system availability, security, and performance. About the Role

The Network Engineer will be responsible for managing the Society's computer network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity, system security, and continuous availability of business applications. The successful candidate will work closely with ICT teams, project managers, vendors, and business users to support critical banking systems and implement modern networking solutions.

This position requires a proactive professional who can troubleshoot network issues, improve infrastructure performance, and ensure that the organisation's technology environment supports business operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Network Infrastructure Management

- Manage and maintain the organisation's computer network infrastructure.

- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of network services.

- Monitor network performance and recommend improvements.

- Support the implementation of new networking technologies.

Technical Support

Responsibilities include:

- Provide day-to-day support for business systems and network users.

- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.

- Ensure effective IT security across network infrastructure.

- Support network maintenance and disaster recovery activities.

Network Planning and Improvement

The successful candidate will:

- Analyse network performance information for maintenance and audit purposes.

- Recommend proactive technical solutions to improve network efficiency.

- Build and strengthen network resilience.

- Support infrastructure upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

The role also involves:

- Building effective working relationships with end users, project managers, subject matter experts, and senior management.

- Providing technical advice and guidance on networking technologies.

  • - Supporting ICT projects requiring network infrastructure.

- Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or another related field.

- Professional certification in one or more of the following is required or will be highly advantageous:

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

- CompTIA A+

- CompTIA Network+

- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)

- TOGAF

- ITIL v4

- COBIT 5

- CompTIA Security+

- Minimum of three (3) years' relevant work experience.

- Membership with the Information and Communication Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ).
