Healthlane Medical Centre is seeking qualified Zambian citizens to join its healthcare team as Pharmacy Technologists at its facilities in Kalulushi and Chambishi.
The successful candidates will support the pharmacy department in maintaining effective medication management, prescription processing, stock control and safe pharmacy practices while providing professional assistance to patients and healthcare providers.
The Pharmacy Technologist will support day-to-day pharmacy operations, including medication preparation and distribution, stock management, prescription processing and record keeping.
The role requires strong attention to detail and strict adherence to pharmacy regulations, safety procedures and hygiene standards. The successful candidates will also interact with patients and healthcare professionals and refer complex medication-related enquiries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
Assemble, stock and distribute medications to support efficient pharmacy services.
Sort, stock and label medications in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Safeguard pharmacy stock, equipment and other resources against loss or damage.
Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
Electronically process prescriptions while verifying that all required information is complete and accurate.
Maintain accurate pharmacy records.
File prescriptions and physicians' orders systematically.
Ensure relevant documentation is properly maintained and readily accessible.
Perform assigned administrative and record-keeping duties.
Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
Provide appropriate assistance within the scope of the Pharmacy Technologist's responsibilities.
Refer complex or specialised medication-related questions to the Pharmacist.
Maintain professional communication with patients and members of the healthcare team.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised pharmacy environment.
Follow established hygiene and sterilisation procedures.
Handle medications and pharmacy equipment in accordance with required safety procedures.
Support compliance with relevant pharmacy and healthcare standards.
Applicants should possess:
Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution.
Full registration licence.
Valid practising licence.
Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 1 year of post-qualification work experience in a pharmacy setting.
Proficiency in computer applications relevant to pharmacy operations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Prescription processing and verification.
Medication stock management.
Pharmacy record keeping.
Electronic pharmacy systems.
Medication labelling and storage.
Understanding of pharmacy safety and hygiene procedures.
Basic computer literacy relevant to pharmacy operations.
Strong attention to detail.
Professional and responsible approach to patient care.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals.
Good organisational and record-keeping abilities.
Commitment to confidentiality, safety and regulatory compliance.
The positions are based at Healthlane Medical Centre facilities in Kalulushi and Chambishi. The successful candidates will work within a healthcare and pharmacy environment, interacting with patients, pharmacists, healthcare providers and other members of the medical team.
