Bubezi Camp is a safari operation located in the Lower Zambezi wilderness of Zambia. The camp provides guests with immersive experiences centred around wildlife, nature and the region's unique bush and river ecosystems.
The camp is seeking a qualified and experienced Safari Guide to join its team and contribute to delivering safe, informative and memorable experiences for guests.
The Safari Guide will be responsible for leading guests on bush and river safaris, providing knowledgeable interpretation of wildlife and the surrounding ecosystems while maintaining high standards of safety and guest service.
The successful candidate should have extensive guiding experience, strong knowledge of the Lower Zambezi environment and the ability to interact with guests in a warm, professional and engaging manner.
Lead guests on bush and river safari activities.
Provide accurate and engaging information about local wildlife, habitats and ecosystems.
Interpret animal behaviour, plant life and other aspects of the natural environment for guests.
Create educational and memorable safari experiences tailored to different guest interests.
Conduct river-based safari activities in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
Apply professional river-guiding knowledge and experience when operating around waterways.
Ensure guests are properly briefed on river safety procedures before and during activities.
Maintain professional and friendly relationships with guests.
Communicate clearly and confidently throughout safari activities.
Respond appropriately to guest questions and interests.
Deliver a high standard of service while representing Bubezi Camp professionally.
Prioritise guest and staff safety during all guiding activities.
Follow established safety procedures and responsible guiding practices.
Exercise sound judgement when operating in potentially hazardous wildlife and wilderness environments.
Promote responsible interaction with wildlife and respect for the natural environment.
Support the principles of conservation and sustainable tourism.
Applicants should possess:
Full professional Safari Guide qualifications.
Qualification as a River Guide.
Valid Coxswain Licence.
At least 5 years of relevant safari guiding experience.
Experience guiding in both bush and river environments.
In-depth knowledge of wildlife and the bush and river ecosystems of the Lower Zambezi region.
Strong guest interaction and communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, responsibility and professional conduct.
Professional bush and river guiding.
Wildlife identification and interpretation.
Knowledge of Lower Zambezi ecosystems.
River safety and navigation.
Guest briefing and activity management.
Wilderness safety awareness.
Environmental and conservation awareness.
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.

The position is based in the Lower Zambezi wilderness and involves working in a natural safari environment.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working outdoors and conducting activities in both bush and river environments. The role requires regular interaction with guests and a strong commitment to safety, wildlife conservation and responsible tourism.
