Job Overview

Epiroc is looking for an experienced and customer-focused Product Support Technician to provide expert technical support for OBK customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum machine reliability and equipment availability through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while delivering exceptional customer service.

This role requires extensive field support, troubleshooting expertise, equipment commissioning, customer training, and a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) standards while maintaining zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and zero environmental incidents.

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on OBK equipment to achieve equipment availability above 85%.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment to maximise machine reliability.

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and service calls to minimise operational downtime.

  • Support equipment commissioning, start-ups, upgrades, rebuilds, and field demonstrations.

  • Deliver operator and maintenance training to customers on safe equipment operation and maintenance best practices.

  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.

  • Prepare accurate service reports and maintain detailed maintenance records.

  • Promote continuous improvement in equipment performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A Diploma or Degree in:

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Heavy Equipment Engineering

    • Mining Engineering

    • Industrial Engineering

    • Or a related Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in maintenance and field service of mining, drilling, or exploration equipment.

  • Experience working with OBK equipment will be an added advantage.

  • Valid driver's licence.

  • Willingness to travel regularly to remote customer sites.

Skills & Competencies

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong technical knowledge of drilling and exploration equipment.

  • Hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, commissioning, and repairs.

  • Sound knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

  • Understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.

  • Ability to interpret OEM manuals, hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and service bulletins.

  • Strong fault-finding and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
